  • Persons who are an employee, retiree, or family member of L G & E Company or its subsidiaries.  
  • Family members, including parents, grandparents, spouses, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and siblings are eligible for membership.  We are a single sponsor Credit Union.

Annually the Credit Union's membership elects individuals from its own ranks that have agreed to serve designated terms on the Board of Directors.  The Board members volunteer their time and talents to represent the membership and govern the Credit Union by establishing policies and procedures that reflect the best interest of members.

L G & E Co. Credit Union was founded in 1934. L G & E provides space to assist the Credit Union in both offices downtown.  Our Credit Union belongs to its members.  The Credit Union philosophy is summed up in the phrase "People Helping People".  It is a teamwork concept called a cooperative - in which depositors and borrowers are mutually benefited  Our objectives are:
  • Depository for Members funds
  • To provide a favorable return on Members Deposits
  • To provide reasonably priced loan rates 
  • To provide helpful financial services that are economical and cost effective for our Members.

Your deposits with the Credit Union are insured up to at least $100,000 by the NCUSIF.  This is a government agency similar to the FDIC Insurance that banks offer.  We are regulated by the NCUA and the Kentucky Department of Finance.  We have a Board of Directors made up of the current L G & E Employees and Retirees.

We currently have assets of more than $19 million dollars.
